An abandoned and dilapidated structure in Lake Elsinore had received ongoing complaints from the community. This structure was subject to transient trespass and accumulated exterior junk, trash, and debris. The City red-tagged the property twice due to the dangers and uninhabitable conditions including collapse hazards.
Before
Not only was this structure not safe for the Lake Elsinore community, it was an eyesore that negatively affected property values. In response to the growing complaints from the community, the City and homeless outreach team visited the property to discover 6 individuals occupying it. The City was compelled to once again red-tag the property and vacate the occupants from the substandard structure.

After
Civica Law sends numerous notices to the property owner and interested parties informing them about the violations of the City’s municipal code and state laws. After multiple attempts to gain voluntary compliance failed and the owner nor interested parties provided consent to abate, the City sought an abatement warrant to demolish the substandard structure from Riverside Superior Court.
