On March 15, 2023, the Palmdale City Council unanimously approved and passed an ordinance that lays out the guidelines for sidewalk and other mobile vendors operations in the City.
This new ordinance aligns the City of Palmdale’s municipal code with changes made to state law in recent years. It is considered a big accomplishment for the City’s residents and businesses in the City, both street vendors and brick-and-mortar businesses, all of which are a key part of Palmdale’s daily life.
What’s Addressed in The Ordinance?
This newly mandated ordinance addresses numerous essential things:
- The operational standards for sidewalk and other mobile vendors.
- A streamlined process for these businesses to obtain the necessary permitting.
- Key review and appeal procedures for determinations related to vending.

This win is also essential because it ensured the City was in compliance with key state law changes, including Senate Bill 946.
